‘GIMME SHELTER’

Gimme Shelter is a documentary project rooted in slums, poor neighborhoods, and the streets—focusing on the humanity of those who call these spaces home. In a world where the housing crisis affects millions, most people living without stable shelter are overlooked, invisible to the wider population. This series aims to confront that invisibility with honesty, dignity, and compassion.

Through candid moments and intimate portraits, Gimme Shelter captures experiences that, despite differences in background, people everywhere can relate to—moments of connection, humor, resilience, and shared life. These images seek not to create distance, but to foster empathy and understanding, reminding us that home is not only a place, but a human condition. For me, it is essential that those photographed feel seen, recognized, and valued. This work aims to show that this is the reality for many—one that deserves attention rather than avoidance.

Every cent of profit from this project is donated to homeless and housing support charities, helping those who need shelter find a path toward it.

Although the images are presented without location captions to emphasize the universality of these issues, the photographs were created across multiple cities, including Paris (France), London (UK), Naples (Italy), Los Angeles (USA), Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Mexico City (Mexico)
