RNST x BRICE GELOT

This new collaboration between RNST and Brice Gelot continues their shared exploration of urban stories, human connections, and the emotional layers hidden behind a single image.

For this new edition, the dialogue begins with two photographs taken by Brice Gelot in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Capturing the presence of a young boy and a young girl within the streets of Saigon, these images reflect a fragile moment of innocence, curiosity, and connection. Two individuals growing up in a world shaped by both dreams and contradictions.

The project draws inspiration from Nancy Sinatra’s iconic song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down), not as a literal narrative, but as an emotional landscape. The song explores the contrast between childhood games and the wounds left by time, where the imaginary act of “shooting” becomes a metaphor for love, loss, memory, and the irreversible transformation from innocence to experience.

Through RNST’s intervention, these two photographs are reinterpreted through his distinctive visual language, blending street art, stencil, collage, and screen printing techniques. The collaboration creates a new visual chapter where the tenderness of childhood meets the darker echoes of the world surrounding it.

The image of the two children becomes a reflection on memory, a moment suspended between play and reality, between vulnerability and resilience. Like the lyrics of the song, the work questions how simple gestures, encounters, and memories can leave permanent marks on our lives.

This limited edition print represents the continuation of an artistic conversation between photography and urban art, transforming documentary imagery into a new visual experience. Two perspectives, two mediums, and two artists from Dijon reconnecting through stories found thousands of kilometers away, proving once again that human emotions transcend borders.
